About Me

Hi, I'm Megan and I'm a twenty-something stay-at-home-mom to an almost one year old, living in Carmel, Indiana.  I'm kind of crafty, kind of good at baking, kind of into eating healthy and exercising and kind of into organizing. I probably spend too much time in sweatpants and my hair pulled up into a messy bun.  I probably let my son get into too many things around the house.  I probably spend too much time looking at Facebook and Pinterest.  But that's real life. And Welcome to mine.

This is our first professional family picture. I believe James was 5 months old here.

I've been into baking and crafting for as long as I can remember.  I spent a lot of childhood either making bags on the sewing machine or making cookies and cakes with my mom.  Even after all my years of baking, I'm still on the search for the perfect, almost fail-proof recipe for chocolate chip cookies.  Baking a cake and icing it used to be the most relaxing thing in the world to me, that was until I found running.

These are chocolate chip cookies with pudding mix.  Very good but not perfect.

A couple of years ago, I fell in love with running.  But it hasn't been the best relationship. I wasn't able to continue my running when I was pregnant with James and it was hard to get back into the summer that he was born.  So this year, with my jogging stroller in hand, I'm trying to get back into it. I'm not able to run as often as I would like but it's all about trying, right?  I thought so.

This quote perfectly explains how I feel about running.

About House of Henry

House of Henry is where I hope to share my love of baking, crafting and running (it's a love hate relationship).  I also hope to share pieces from my life and little things that keep me going day after day.  I'm going to try to keep this blog as real as I can.  I've read so many blogs out there that I feel like sugar coat things and wrap them up in a nice little package and that's just not life. I like the ones that show the real things about life, the meltdowns that kids have, the unfinished rooms in your house, photos that show everything isn't as perfect that it seems.  So that is my promise to you, to have a fun blog about baking, crafting, some exercise that as real as the internet will let me.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I hope you have fun looking around.

-Megan
